K-8 ECO STEM camp is a two-day summer camp for rising K-8th graders from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on June 16 and 17, 2025, at the Biology Field Station. There is a camp fee of $50 which covers a t-shirt, snacks, and all activities. Camp is perfect for children interested in aquatic life, nature, and science. Campers are split into cohorts by grade level, and should bring a packed lunch and water bottle to camp each day. Biology Field Station faculty, staff, and undergraduate interns will lead camp programming, and all programs happen on site at the Station (8330 Mary Ingles Hwy, California, KY 41007). Early drop-off or later pick-up may be available upon request. Activities may include guided hikes, eco-art, boat rides, river sweeps, fishing, meeting & feeding our research animals, and more. The objectives of the K-8 ECO STEM camp are for all campers to learn more about the Ohio River, what lives in it, why it’s so important to us, and to have fun while doing it! Reach out to Molly Williams ([email protected]) for any questions.
