Faculty and student conduct research in the fields of aquatic biology, ecology and environmental science.
Students are actively engaged in a wide variety of research projects, including animal husbandry (fish & mussels), aquaculture, aquatic toxicology, big river sampling, bioassessments & biomonitoring, and DNA sequencing, among others.
Formal collaborations exist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services and other federal, state and private agencies.
The Field Station offer an extensive STEM Outreach program, including teacher workshops, grade school field trips and a high school summer camp about the Ohio River ecosystem and surrounding watershed
