Apprenticeship Program

A Vocational Approach to Fine Arts:
Thomas More College Apprenticeship Program in Studio Arts

Inspired by the historical guild system of the master artist and his/her apprentices, a professional Artist will collaborate with several Thomas More art students to create a new body of work. Taking the lead in both concept and form, the Artist will embark upon a journey with apprentices (Thomas More students) that demonstrate his/her approach to creating a consistent body of work that is fully developed and gallery-ready. The Artist and apprentices will be awarded a show in the Eva G. Farris Thomas More Art Gallery.

Learning Outside of the Classroom

By showing students real-world experiences of creative pursuits, this vocational experience will inspire students to continue their personal and intellectual development throughout their lives. This unique studio arts experience will help provide the student with a hands-on, practical opportunity to learn about possible applications of their art degree from Thomas More College. By fostering an opportunity for Thomas More students to work with professionals in their field, this program will aid in strengthening Thomas More's engagement with the broader
Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky community.
