No, we encourage anyone who is interested in taking the course to register and enjoy.

Walt Disney World: With or Without the Kids

This course will provide you with the information you need to plan a Walt Disney World vacation with or without the kids. The focus will be on websites and resources that will enable you to use your vacation time efficiently and get the most out of your vacation dollars.

Building a Successful Business Using the Internet

This is a 12 week hands-on course using theory and proven practices to take a student through the steps of starting and operating an online business. Using smart tools, but not requiring technical knowledge, students will learn the stages of developing an online business. A business does not need to be chosen prior to the start of the course.  Students will need a personal computer and internet connection for homework assignments. By the end of the course, using the tools and materials included, students will have an operating internet business which they will be able to nurture using lessons learned during the course. Emergency Preparedness in Record Keeping

Do you know where all your records are? Could you replace important papers if an emergency occurred such as a tornado, fire, or flood? This class will help in locating and replacing important papers as well as introducing new ways to store your important information so you’ll be backed up no matter what happens.

Basic Knitting
Scarf It Up For Those in Need

Learn basic knitting skills to make a scarf, as well as casting on, garter stitch, purling and binding off. Supplies needed: 10.5 short knitting needles, a skein of thick n’ quick or chunky yarn and a large eye yarn needle

Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement

This information-rich seminar introduces the concepts and practices that will help you spend your retirement comfortably and in control of your finances. This class will demonstrate a conservative approach to wise money management and will help you identify lifestyle issues facing retirees. Students will learn to seek maximization of their income and more from their investments, Social Security and retirement plans. The class will also show participants how to protect their hard-earned assets from inflation and the possible cost of long-term health care. This class will pay dividends for the rest of your life!

Creativity in the Classroom: Writing Poetry with Middle to High School Age Writers

How do you get your young students excited about writing and reading poetry? In a collegial, encouraging workshop setting, learn how to make poetry writing come alive for middle and high school students. We will explore some general basics of creativity, study successful, classroom-tested prompts, and create our own. We will also discuss how to establish constructive and non-threatening peer response, learn the fundamental mechanics of building student portfolios over a period of time, and survey local, regional and national writing contests your students might enter. Bring your questions and ideas of your own! Offered by Thomas More College’s Creative Writing Vision Program. Bring a brownbag supper; dessert will be provided.

Rape Aggression Defense System (R.A.D.)
Lakeside Park/Crestview Hills Police Department

A self- defense class taught by an experienced female instructor exclusively to women. It has gained national recognition as a premier self- defense program for women. RAD’s core four principles of awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance are coupled with basic physical defensive moves to help a woman defend herself.
