Four is MORE

Thomas More College is pleased to partner with Gateway Community and Technical College in offering the Four is MORE program. Students who have completed an associate's degree at Gateway will be automatically accepted to Thomas More College upon submission of the admission application. Students joining the Thomas More community upon completion of their associate's degree from Gateway are also eligible for an enhanced financial aid package designed to bridge the gap to the four year degree program and recognize the academic achievements that have been accomplished.

Application Process

Gateway Community and Technical College and Thomas More College are dedicated to making your transition from your associate's degree program to a bachelor's degree as smooth and simple as possible. To begin the process, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Submit the Thomas More College admission application. The online application is free.
  2. Request that your final Gateway Community and Technical College transcript be sent to the Office of Enrollment at Thomas More College. Remember, qualified students must complete an associate's degree to qualify for the Four is MORE admission and financial aid guarantee. Four is MORE applicants may transfer a maximum of 64 credit hours.
  3. Visit Thomas More College to meet with your enrollment counselor, Katie Jaeger, tour campus, discuss your major with a professor and learn more about the Four is MORE financial aid program.
  4. Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st each year. Federal and state aid can be applied toward the Four is MORE program. Thomas More College's FAFSA school code is 002001.

Financial Aid

Students who transfer to Thomas More College upon completion of a Gateway AA/AS degree are eligible for a variety of scholarships. These awards are based on a combination of your financial need, college GPA and your application date. Fall- and spring-term entrants are eligible. Students must complete an application for admission and scholarship. To receive these awards, students must be full-time and have earned an associate's degree from Gateway Community and Technical College.

Gateway Guarantee
Any associate degree graduate of Gateway Community and Technical College is guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 in scholarships and grants from Thomas More College.

Dean's Transfer Scholarship

  • $11,000-$12,000 per year for up to three years toward a bachelor's degree (valued at $33,000-$36,000 for three years)
  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 from Gateway Community and Technical College to qualify.

    3.0-3.49 $11,000
    3.5-3.99 $12,000

Gateway Graduate Award

  • $14,000 per year for up to three years toward a bachelor's degree (valued at $42,000 for three years)
  • Students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher at Gateway Community and Technical College are eligible to apply for one of 10 awards that are available at any one time and are awarded on basis of acceptance date.

Transfer Presidential Scholarship

  • $14,000 per year for up to three years toward a bachelor's degree (valued at $42,000 for three years)
  • For any Gateway Community and Technical College graduate who earns a 4.0 GPA

Legacy Tuition Grant

  • $500 per year (valued at $1,500 for three years)
  • Available to the sons, daughters or siblings of Thomas More/Villa Madonna graduates.

Sibling Award

  • $500 per year (valued at $1,500 for three years)
  • Available to each student who has a sibling currently enrolled at Thomas More College.

Out-of-State Award

  • $2,000 per year
  • Available to any student not residing in Kentucky.

Students may qualify for the Gateway Guarantee, Dean's Transfer Scholarship, Gateway Graduate Award or Transfer Presidential Scholarship, but not more than one of these. Students may not receive total awards that exceed the cost of tuition.
