Study Abroad 2013-14
Why not Study Abroad in London after Christmas?
Thomas More College has been a member of the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA) for over 25 years. CCSA is a consortium of 24 American Colleges and Universities which offers study abroad programs and internships in English speaking countries. While there are programs this winter (December 26-January 9, 2014) in Australia, London-Dublin, and London, I wanted to share with you information about three courses in the London Winter Program that will be taught by Thomas More College faculty:
- A Business Administration class taught by Dr. Edward Oestreicher called “Opening the Door for Change and Process Improvement in Europe;”
- An English class taught by Professor Jim Schuttemeyer on “Shakespeare and Sexuality” and
- A Political Science class with Dr. J.T. Spence on “The British Roots of the American Revolution”
Each of these classes will be offered for three (3) credits and will be tuition-free. The only cost will be the cost of the program itself and Thomas More College may be able to help you, if your GPA is 2.5 or higher, with a Global Perspectives Grant of up to 25% of the cost. The applications for this grant will be available all over campus beginning with the second week of classes and the deadline for submission is Monday, September 9, 2013. This early date has been chosen because an early CCSA application date by Friday, September 13, 2013 receives a $100 early submission discount, though CCSA applications are accepted through September 27, 2013.
The CCSA website is www.ccsa.cc but catalogs are available in the Humanities lobby area on the 2200 floor or from TMC’s CCSA liaison, Dr. Ray Hebert in Office #2216. The Global Perspectives Grant applications are also to be submitted to Dr. Hebert, who can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org or (859) 344-3310.
