He is also a Rindsberg Teaching Fellow. Dr. Richardsonʼs research focus on XML query optimization and processing and the implications of semi-structured data on query evaluation. His doctoral dissertation, “A Performance Study of XML Query Optimization Techniques,” provides an initial framework upon which an entire class of XML query optimizers can be built. Bartley began his teaching career while still a graduate student. He first taught Cincinnati Public High School students as part of Project STEP, an NSF funded program. Before Dr. Richardson came to Thomas More College, he spent two years as a Visiting Professor of Computer Science at Northern Kentucky University. He is actively involved with colleagues from NKU in an ongoing study to assess the effectiveness of introductory computer science curricula. Dr. Richardson is an active member of IEEE and ACM.
