Kyle Edward Lyons
Kyle Edward Lyons (St. Xavier High School) is this year's recipient of the Luca Pacioli Outstanding Accountancy Senior Award. Kyle will graduate magna cum laude with a double major in accountancy and business administration. While at Thomas More, Kyle consistently demonstrated exemplary academic performance. A high level of classroom engagement and diligence, combined with an extraordinary strong commitment to his studies, served as the distinctive marks of Kyle's approach to his scholastic pursuits. Others outside the College have recognized Kyle's talents and abilities. Fifth Third Bank conferred an outstanding job performance award on Kyle during his freshman year, and, two years later, the Kentucky Society of CPAs, in a state-wide competition, honored Kyle with an academic scholarship. Kyle did not concentrate solely on the classroom as a source of learning. This past summer he worked as an accounting intern at Aurora Casket Company and, prior to that time, served as a customer representative for Fifth Third Bank. Kyle also played on Thomas More's football team in his freshman year, earning a PAC award for his athletic and academic accomplishments.
What has further distinguished Kyle from his peers has been his level of dedication to the service of others. In each of his four years at Thomas More, Kyle participated in the College sponsored Habitat for Humanity building projects during spring break. As president of the Business Society for the past two years, Kyle played a major role in organizing the last two ventures. In addition, Kyle also served as an active participant in VITA, where he volunteered his time to complete tax returns for the less fortunate.
As for his future, Kyle has accepted a staff accountant position at VonLehman and Company, where he is scheduled to begin on June 3rd. Now only preparation for the CPA examination awaits.
