Dr. Kathy L. Dye
Dr. Dye has been a non-traditional student her whole life. Technically a drop out, she withdrew from high school early, attended college in Michigan for a year, then took some time away to work. At 20, she moved to Cincinnati to take a job, then eventually returned to college full-time, earning a Bachelor of Science in Design from U.C.’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. After working in various corporate training and development positions, Kathy again returned to school. She enrolled in an executive program at Xavier University, and while working full-time, she earned a Master of Education in Human Resource Development. During her studies XU, Kathy got fired up about pursuing a doctorate, in part because it sounded like fun and in part because she wanted to “give back” to her profession by way of theoretical discourse and development. Again, while working full-time, she commuted to Indiana University in Bloomington where she majored in instructional systems technology (corporate training and development) and minored in business management. She earned her doctorate from IU in 2002. In addition to teaching full-time at TMC, Kathy runs a successful consulting practice and has worked with clients such as Delco/Delphi Electronics, Eli Lilly, Fidelity Investments, GE Aircraft, Great American Insurance, Merrill Lynch, and The Western Southern Enterprise. She is very active in the Cathedral Parish and the Diocese of Covington, she volunteers with several not-for-profit organizations, and she flirts with death by riding motorcycles and scuba diving.
