The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Health Care Management (HCM) program blends academic theory with the multidisciplinary principles, policies and practices that support the dynamic health services industry. This undergraduate major draws support from the following fields: accounting, biology, business, communications, economics, philosophy, nursing, political science, and sports/entertainment marketing. The degree is designed to prepare students for further graduate study or a variety of entry- and mid-level career and leadership opportunities in the global and dynamic health services arena. These opportunities include the following:

  • managed care companies

Program Goals

  • To provide historical content knowledge and expose students to a depth and breadth of current health care topics.
  • To link academic theory to practical real-world application through learning experiences including corporate social responsibility—service learning.
  • To provide the fundamental baseline knowledge and prerequisites for entry into graduate level study.
  • To acquaint students with the resources necessary to cultivate networking skills for career advancement in the profession.
  • To teach benchmarking , quality improvement and research methods in pursuit of truth, validity and reliability.
  • To adhere to the high standards for undergraduate certification set forth by the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Administration.

Program Faculty and Oversight

This program is organized under the Department of Business and will be taught by qualified faculty. Content coordination and program management will be the responsibility of Dr. Jack Rudnick, Jr. In addition, to holding a current nursing home license in Kentucky, Dr. Rudnick has 35 years of direct healthcare leadership experience in a variety of progressively responsible senior management positions; and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
