Thomas More College Announces Finalists for Presidential Search
Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky., has announced four candidates as finalists for president of the liberal arts college. The candidates will be visiting campus to meet with students, faculty, staff and the board of trustees beginning April 19 through April 26. The following candidates have agreed to participate in the final, on-campus interview process:
- David A. Armstrong - Friday, April 19
Currently serves as vice president and general counsel for Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
- Michael O. Kenney - Monday, April 22
Currently serves as vice president for Planning & Enrollment Management at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.
- Richard L. Ludwick - Wednesday, April 24
Currently serves as president of Independent Colleges of Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Msgr. Stuart W. Swetland - Friday, April 26
Currently serves as vice president for Catholic Identity and Mission at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Following the announcement last fall that President Sr. Margaret Stallmeyer was retiring as president effective June 30, 2013, a national search was initiated. Stallmeyer has served as president of the Catholic diocesan college since June 1, 2004.
Thomas More College Board Chair Jeanne-Marie Tapke , Ph.D., commented on search, "It's been thrilling to see the level of candidates who have shown interest in Thomas More College. Each of them brings a solid background of leadership, enthusiasm and commitment to Catholic higher education."
An announcement of the selection is expected to be made in early May.
